Job Description:

Are you frustrated by a lack of opportunity? Are you bored because nothing ever changes? Are you disappointed that you're not able to make a real difference? Then this newly created role could be just the challenge for you.

Due to significant recent expansion, this global manufacturing organisation is seeking to appoint a Factory Managers Assistant to work at its Peterlee facility. This new role has been created to provide increased support and control for production and logistics activities, as manufacturing and production volumes have recently doubled in output due to the consolidation of two factories to one site. The role will work with internal departments including drawing (CAD) office, production and finance, as well as supporting external customers. The successful applicant will also play a key role in the development of a new ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Although this position is initially being offered a 6 months contract (directly employed by the business), it is anticipated that you will be offered a permanent post, following successful completion of the initial 6 month period.

Working alongside the Factory Manager, you will be a key office contact for Production & Logistics, so it's essential that you have previous experience gained within a production or manufacturing environment. You will coordinate stock purchases, including some negotiations with suppliers, and you will be responsible for controlling stock levels, so previous experience of managing stock will be advantageous. You will also use Microsoft Dynamics NAV to manage and maintain production and stock information, and you will also use Microsoft Excel to produce analysis, so experience and confidence using both Excel and an ERP or MRP system (e.g. SAP, Sage 200, Oracle, etc.) is essential. You will be actively with both production and logistics planning, so previous logistics experience would also be an advantage. You will liaise both internally and externally, dealing with customers, project and sales team, so you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will join the business at an exciting time following recent major investment and change at the facility, and you will be a key part of its continued success by establishing this new role. You will be rewarded with opportunities for long-term development and progression within the company as it continues to expand.

If this sounds like a challenge you would enjoy, please apply today or contact us for a discussion.
