The Property Ombudsman have an exciting opportunity for a Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor to join their growing business in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Job Title: Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire SP1 2BP Salary: £18,635.40 per annum Job Type: Permanent, full-time Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor - About Us: The Property Ombudsman provides a free, impartial and independent service, helping to resolve disputes between Consumers and Property Agents. It is the largest Ombudsman scheme in the sector and the only one to operate Codes of Practice to raise standards and share best practice in the industry. It is a not-for-profit organisation and has been providing a free and impartial dispute resolution service for more than 27 years. Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor - The Role: The key purpose of the Membership Compliance Advisor role is to provide member agents with support, advice and guidance on Compliance matters. In order to achieve this, the main duties are: - Support members completing the Compliance Survey - Check the Compliance Surveys submitted - Provide feedback on completed surveys and request amended evidence in cases on non-compliance - In partnership with the Senior Membership Compliance Advisor and Director of Policy explore ways to develop the Compliance department and provide greater guidance to members - Answer member's queries by letter, email and telephone - With the Senior Membership Compliance Advisor and Director of Policy develop strategies to streamline the Compliance survey process - Ad-hoc project work on topical Compliance issues - Deal with agent to agent complaints brought to TPO attention or escalate to Senior Membership Compliance Advisor, Director of Policy or Trading Standards as necessary - Be aware of relevant legal requirements regarding estate agency work, lettings agency, residential leasehold management and other areas of TPO jurisdiction - Any other duties as may be reasonably allocated from time to time by the Senior Membership Compliance Advisor or Director of Policy Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor - Experience and Attributes: Essential: - Good general education to include English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualification) - Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy - Tenacity and motivation to meet ongoing targets - Good prioritising, problem solving and organisational skills - Team player, but also able to work individually and use initiative - Sound judgement and perception - Good written and verbal communications skills - Competent in the use of Microsoft Products - Good time management skills - Positive can-do attitude Desirable: - A levels/Level 3 qualification - Ability to identify opportunities for improvement - Willing to work flexibly when required Membership Compliance Advisor / Customer Advisor - Benefits: - 23 days of annual leave plus Public Holidays per complete holiday year, January to December - 3 additional discretionary days of annual leave between Christmas and New Year's to allow the office to close for the holidays - Immediate enrolment in pension scheme, with the company contributing 3% and matching up to 5% - Opportunities for development and progression - Life assurance scheme - EAP service Please note that the deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, 12 October 2018 and interviews will take place on Friday, 19 October 2018.
