Stobart Group have an exciting opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join their growing team based in Carlisle, Cumbria. Job Title: IT Apprentice Location: Carlisle, Cumbria Salary: National Apprentice Wage Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 - 40 Hours per week Stobart Group is an Infrastructure and Support Services business operating in the biomass energy, railway maintenance and aviation sectors as well as having investments in a property and logistics portfolio. IT Apprentice - What's the role? Responsible for the provision of first line technical support, covering first level incident and service request management for hardware, software, LAN, WAN, data lines and telecoms. Performing first line IT support utilising the Group IT Service Desk system to log, evaluate, prioritise allocate and process events, incidents and requests. Liaising with end users, second/third line technicians and third parties to gather information, diagnose, and resolve issues and keep all parties informed of progress. To maximise the availability of the company's IT equipment and services and ensure that operational needs of the business are met. IT Apprentice - What will I be responsible for? - Specific Responsibilities and Objectives - First line support with some coverage of second line issues in support of second line technicians - Communication with end users (customers) both internal and external - Communication with second and third line technicians - To ensure the company's IT equipment and services are operating effectively - Effective use of the service desk system to manage incidents and service requests through to resolution within agreed SLA/KPI - Ensure relevant checks are carried out to keep systems and services operating within agreed parameters - Ensure documentation is kept up to date to reflect current practices and operating environment - Configuration of PCs to standard build specification - Fault reporting to third party suppliers - Support of company and third-party software - Support of hardware estate - including supplier liaison, setup and fault reporting IT Apprentice - Key Skills and Experience: Core - Good communication skills - Ability to learn new technologies quickly - Must be competent enough to work alone and as part of a team - Attention to detail Desirable - Analytical aptitude IT Apprentice - Qualifications: Core - 5 GCSEs including Maths and English The successful applicant will be rewarded with a package including company pension scheme and uniform.
