Are you a natural leader, able to operate at Board level with a strong background in growth management? Managing Director - The Role: Privately owned, this online retail business has enjoyed continued expansion and growth year on year, and has established itself as a leading provider in its field. This role has been designed to enhance the business, with a mandate to be the strategic thought leader who can drive increased revenue across the online and offline channels. As Managing Director you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a growth strategy in order to continue year on year growth trends. Leading from the front, it will be your responsibility to lead, coach and develop a small team and bring best in class strategic marketing thinking to the table. Managing Director - Key Responsibilities: - Deliver revenue and margin targets to drive growth - Define the acquisition, retention and conversion strategies for the site and execute the subsequent plans through the team. - Create and implement a growth strategy that is aligned to business goals and objectives, taking into account individual customer and brand requirements where appropriate. - Use relevant market, competitor and customer intelligence to ensure that the strategy is evidence based, relevant, compelling and competitive. Managing Director - Experience Required: - Proven experience leading a e-commerce channel business. - Will have some good technical understanding of online marketing - A do-er / hands on and equally comfortable being strategic as well as operational - Previous experience of managing and leading teams, capable of motivating and galvanising direct and indirect stake holders - ability to set the agenda and take others with you - Interpersonal skills that will enable them to navigate and build relationships at all levels across the business - Bring new ideas and ways of doing things - bringing new expertise in marketing and e commerce that doesn't already exist in the business - A driver, "make it happen" mind-set - Commercially astute, keeps an eye on the numbers and return on investment - Willing to travel for the role, there is another site in Surrey that you will be expected within 1-2 days a week Whilst this role is with an online retailer, strong candidates with Ecommerce backgrounds from other sectors e.g. hospitality or fashion are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity as well.
