Are you a 2nd Line Engineer looking for a new challenge role? This fast growing IT Support and Managed Services Provider, based in Burnley we are looking for strong 2nd line engineers to join the team. Our client has a diverse and loyal client-base spanning many sectors, and are looking to expand the team with an experienced Microsoft-focused IT professional who can join us in offering affordable, friendly and effective support. Experience, Knowledge & Skills required: Min. 2-3 Years' experience as an 2nd Line Engineer with a Managed Service Provider Sound knowledge of: Windows Server 2008/12/16 Microsoft Exchange/O365 Active Directory Administration VMware or Hyper-V Working knowledge of DNS/DHCP/Group Policy etc. Firewalls Networking Back-up and restore procedures Full UK Driving License Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, usually over the phone and by email. Ability to organise your time and ask for assistance when lack of time is an issue. Ability to follow a logical problem solving process. Ability to follow the Helpdesk procedures and seek advice when unsure. Main Duties of the role: Providing 2nd/3rd line IT support; answering support queries via phone, email and on site. Ensuring that calls are logged onto the Helpdesk system accurately and promptly. Diagnosing customer faults remotely, resolving problems immediately where possible. Attending customer sites to diagnose faults and repair computer systems and peripherals. Organising your tickets within agreed SLA's and keeping customers informed on the status and progress of their tickets. Escalating complex calls to the relevant IT Support member, promptly, where you are not able to resolve the issue. Documenting all installation details promptly, including passwords, configuration settings, serial numbers and license keys. Essential Personal Qualities: A positive and friendly attitude when dealing with customers. A keenness to work within a team and to support your working colleagues. An appetite to learn and take on new challenges. External training will be offered and manufacturing training where necessary.
