Lead DevOps Engineer Permanent £50,000-£60,000 Location: London This company is a multi-award-winning Digital Consultancy practice based in the UK and overseas. They are in the list of Top 10 Most Innovative Companies and a won an award for Enterprise and Innovation winner. They are looking for the best and brightest technology professionals to join them and help deliver some of the most challenging digital transformation projects in the country. As a Lead DevOps Engineer you will: Build and operate secure cloud based infrastructure and services Deploy, test, and configure software releases, DevOps pipelines, monitoring tools, and other supporting technologies Monitor and maintain environmental security compliance (e.g. passwords, key rotation policies, scheduled security patching) Build and operate monitoring, system automation and continuous delivery frameworks Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure related issues within multi-server services and high-availability environments Monitor cost exposure and continuously identify and implement cost optimisations Bring your initiative to pro-actively and independently respond to changing priorities across multiple services. Have extensive experience across several of the following: Applying non-functional architecture concepts (availability, resilience etc) AWS IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services (e.g. Shield, Route 53, Cognito, IAM, S3, RDS, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail etc.) Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation Templates etc.) Continuous Delivery toolchains (e.g. Jenkins, CodeBuild, Docker, Selenium etc.) Logging, monitoring and alerting frameworks (e.g. ELK, Zabbix etc) Web and application server administration (e.g. Nginx, IIS, Tomcat etc) Infrastructure virtualisation (VMWare etc) Skills Required: A 2:1 degree or above in an IT/Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography or GIS subject. Outstanding analytical ability and attention to detail. Experience of, or potential to, work closely with senior client stakeholders. Be willing to share knowledge and coach more junior team members. Exposure to delivering projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc). Experience of working closely with software developers and IT operations staff in a DevOps environment Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts in simple terms A willingness to travel and work onsite as client needs dictate If you feel that you're a great fit for the job but don't yet have all the required skills, apply to us anyway.
